Hello, I’m Steph Inez Matthews (she/her)
I am a new growth specialist for the creative industries. I help brands create sustainable growth and social impact.
I do this in three ways:
I partner with brand clients who need to understand their real customer audiences, and the untapped growth opportunities
I partner with agency clients who need to find new audience growth
I drive new industry growth through my inaugural career handbook for young, queer, brown women.
What unites them is a need to look beyond the usual growth strategies, to what delivers new, long term and purpose led growth.
Welcome to #Steph
Over the last twenty years, I’ve built a global career portfolio across client side, media owner and agency, specialising in strategic business growth, commercial audience insight and purpose marketing.
Today, I work direct to client and agency, using cultural insight to solve their business and marketing challenges. Clients include Warner Bros Discovery, British Red Cross and Black Heart Foundation.
Prior to this, at the social impact consultancy Creative Equals, I partnered with Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 brands, including Philips, Mars, and Walgreens on business and culture change transformation. Before this pivot, I was a global advertising executive, developing brand and marcomms strategies at the Virgin Group, the RAC, and award winning advertising insight programmes at Channel 4, ITV, and News Corp.
Driving social impact at a grassroots level, I’ve been a former President and Non Executive Director for Bloom UK, and am active in mentoring programmes for Stonewall, Media Trust and BelEve.
Having made the semi-finals of Penguin’s Write Now competition in 2020, I’m paying it forward for the next generation with my inaugural career handbook for young, queer, brown women. When I am not writing my book, I write op-eds, long form and short form articles, and deliver keynote speeches.
